Guests frequently praise the hotel's unbeatable location and friendly staff, making it a solid choice for events at the Delta Center or Salt Palace. However, significant concerns exist regarding the mechanical issues in some bathrooms and severe security lapses where a maintenance team entered a guest's room safe without authorization.
My husband, me and our baby stayed here. We were only in town for a hockey game at the Delta Center. It was great. Walking distance from the arena, walking distance from a lot of stuff. The little train station thing was right outside the hotel as well. It was a good price too. I had talked to someone who was there for the same game that weekend and she told me her hotel price was double what we had paid. It’s older so it’s not all fancy but not dirty and un safe feeling.
Decent hotel that needs some work to be worth its price. The good: 1. Room was decently comfy and looked nice (though a bit dated). 2. Every staff member we interacted with was super nice. 3. Great location. Several things close by. Could see the Utah Capitol from our window, which was cool since that's why we were here! 4. Cool little gift shop with decently priced souvenirs. The bad: 1. Breakfast is not included. For the price (we paid just shy of $160/night), that feels ridiculous. A bowl of cereal with milk is over $5. We would not have booked here if we knew the advertised breakfast bar was not included in the room rate. 2. Bathroom in our room has some issues. When we first got into the bathroom, the lights flickered and nearly went out for a minute. When I started the shower, the water pressure varied a ton to the point of even shutting off multiple times during my shower. It would then suddenly kick on to max pressure before stabilizing to a medium pressure and eventually a trickle and then shutting off again.
I'm a local. Came for a concert at the Delta center and wanted a hotel close by. Quick walk and easy to get to/from the concert. Rooms are dated but clean. The parking garage is sketchy. You need to walk down the ramp and compete with cars driving in/out to access the hotel. The stairwell in the parking garage was disturbing. I wouldn't go to that parking garage at night that's for sure! Overall, there are nicer hotels downtown, but for easy access to the Delta center, it did the job. P. S.- A Trax station is located just outside the front of the hotel. If I had realized that, I would have taken Trax and avoided that parking garage altogether!
Excellent view, across from TRAX, good breakfasts for sale. We mailed our food ahead of time:-) Nice people, very nice stay. I have to say the taxi they recommended, Diamond One, charged exactly twice as much for a 4 mile drive as Yellow Cab. Very nice hotel
I advise not to book this hotel if you can help it. My parents and I were in SL for a conference and the Marriott was already full when I tried to reserve. This hotel had vacancy and was conveniently close to the Salt Palace, here the conference was being held. But staying at this hotel is the greatest regret of all the traveling I've done in my life, which has been considerable. Room is not bad, if a little dark and outdated. Sofa beds are usually uncomfortable, but this one was the worst I've ever slept on, which is one of the reasons why we checked out one day earlier. I was surprised and grateful when they said they would only charge me for the two nights we stayed... if only I knew. So we checked out around lunch time and drove about an hour to stay with family. However, we made the grave mistake of forgetting valuables in the room safe, and only remembered later in the evening. I called the hotel as soon as we realized it, and they told me that indeed housekeeping had put in a notice that the safe was locked, but that housekeeping could not access the safe, and maintenance would only open it the following morning. I then asked them not to open it until I arrived next morning, and the receptionist assured me they would leave a note to wait for me to return the next morning to collect my things. When I arrived at 10:00, the safe had been opened by maintenance and they said it was empty. I saw the note the receptionist who talked to me wrote, and it only said I had forgotten things, but no note not to open it. We called the police, but they could not do anything. The hotel said they had to protect their employees, the police said they could look at the security cameras (which were nonexistent in the guest room's corridors, to protect the guests privacy) not question the housekeepers who had cleaned the room, and simply had to believe that we left a locked EMPTY safe behind. I realize it was careless of us to forget valuables, and I wish I had driven back to the hotel that very evening. After all, in the end it was our word against theirs, and the police could not do anything. If maintenance hadn't opened it and waited for us to arrive instead, we'd have known if our code was still working, or if someone had opened and closed it back up. But we will never know. And that's why I would not risk staying at this hotel, if you can help it. And I will never stay in a Best Western, WorldHotel, or SureStay ever again, anywhere in the planet.
I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly. Let me tell you, the shower pressure was off the charts awesome! The view was also beautiful out the window. They have breakfast, but it's not free. You couldn't ask for a better location, and the parking was great.
I recently celebrated my 1-year anniversary of having a kidney transplant and stayed at this wonderful hotel to mark the special occasion. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome and cared for. I chose a king-sized suite, and it exceeded my expectations. The room was extremely spacious, beautifully designed, and featured a luxurious jetted tub that was perfect for relaxing. The view from my suite was stunning and added to the overall experience. The location was ideal—restaurants were within walking distance, and the area felt very safe, which made exploring the surroundings even more enjoyable. Overall, my stay was absolutely fantastic, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, excellent service, and a touch of luxury. I will definitely be returning for another stay in the future!
