The Hampton Inn by Hilton Salt Lake City Cottonwood generally receives positive feedback, particularly highlighting its friendly and helpful staff, including dedicated employees like Arturo, Amber, Brian, Randy, and Moana. While some guests appreciate the convenient location and comfortable rooms, recurring concerns involve billing issues, inconsistent cleanliness, and occasional maintenance problems like malfunctioning amenities and dated room conditions. The hotel is particularly well-suited for skiers and snowboarders due to its proximity to local resorts and bus services.
Overall, this is a great place to stay. I had a very unfortunate death in my family and needed somewhere comfortable to stay. In many ways, they went above and beyond to assist me, given the circumstances. Outstanding assistance was given by Arturo, Amber and Brian. Brian, daily, went above and beyond to provide assistance, given I had ESA's with me. He was the BEST. Arturo and Amber worked on my booking. They also were outstanding and kind. The hotel is great! The breakfasts TOP NOTCH. Stella was nice, as well. They were flexible and responsive. The only 2 items that were not great involved a bit of attitude and billing practices. It became clear an employee I won't name, was getting tired of seeing me and the pups. I got definite attitude from her. She ignored us, when possible. Secondly, billing. OUCH! The billing is very confusing. They place a "hold" on funds. Then a few days later, my bank notified me that ADDITIONAL charges were requested. This happened twice. I finally got so uncomfortable that I decided to shorten my reservation and leave a few days early. In short, most employees were BEYOND great. Hotel EXCELLENT. The billing is SCARY. I suggest they reconsider how they bill their guests. I am a Hilton Rewards member, so it does matter to me.
We stayed here for two nights on the top floor. The location of the hotel is pretty good. The area around the hotel is pretty nice. Breakfast was pretty good and fresh. People working were polite and friendly! The room was okay. When we arrived, the room looked like it hadn’t gotten fully cleaned. Some hair on the floor in the bathroom - nothing to prevent us from changing rooms. The room also smelled kind of musty. There was something sticky on the floor by the right side of the bed. We felt the beds were a little hard for our preference. On our last morning, we were surprised to find under the duvet cover, a faded yellow stain. Overall the hotel is decent, but housekeeping could be improved a bit.
Good stay. Pet friendly! Great views, good service. Close to a few swanky eats. This is a hide away place for comfort. Nice and clean. Hidden on the edge of cottonwood hills. Enjoy!
Originally booked thru Hotes.com (3rd party), big mistake. Before leaving on 6-5, I pull up my confirmation and it shows checking in 6-7, should be 6-6,I call Hotels.com, they say they’ve changed it send me new confirmation. When checking in on the 6th, Hampton had NO reservation for me. New girl at the desk, waited for the General Manager Arturo. He was exceptional, explained that the hotel can’t look up reservations with 3rd party confirmations. I still had to verify payment but the remaining stay was great!! The rest of the staff was very friendly and wanted to make sure we had a great stay. Arturo went above and beyond, professional with a sense of humor, which helped take the stress down. Thanks again!!
Wonderful general manager who hears you out if you have an issue. He immediately solved our problem and made us feel very heard. The wonderful young man working the counter went above and beyond to immediately try to have someone come up to fix the issue as well. Very thankful for the staff and the quality of which this was handled.
We were here for a volleyball tournament with our team for the weekend. Our rooms were clean and quiet. The daily breakfast was perfect and Randy was so great! He made sure everything we had everything we needed and even gave friendly local hikes and excursion recommendations. I appreciated that. Brian was great checking us in and it was a smooth process. Thanks for a great weekend!
The hotel in general was great. The front desk people were incredibly caring, courteous, and accommodating. Especially Brian and Amber. The hotel was very clean. The bed was super comfortable and allowed a great sleep. Housekeeping did a great job. I never saw them, but my room was always perfect! The pool and hot tub area was very neat. Unfortunately the jets didn't really work. I so need jets when traveling. That was a disappointment. The bad parts were parking. (I had to walk pretty far for a 70 year old woman traveling alone. Scary at night.) Also the 2 pictures I posted. My chair had heinous spots and finish was missing from cupboards. These 2 things were not typical of this hotel, but they were in my room and made it kind of creepy feeling. Other than the last few items it was a great stay! The people made the difference. If they weren't so nice it would have been hard to overlook the negatives.
Perfect hotel for a ski trip. Close to the canyon, bus right there, breakfast and a hot tub/pool for after. Moana was exceptional and helped us get all checked in after a day on the mountain
I can’t speak highly enough about this hotel. The rooms are very nice and clean, I slept really great in my bed. The pool and hot tub are a great place to hang out after skiing. Finally, the breakfast really completes the experience. The food is warm and delicious, and a wide variety for young and old people alike. The location is prime for skiing, but also allows access to the beautiful Salt Lake City. There was a man lifting weights while shirtless around 8am on Saturday morning(Valentine’s Day), which gave me the heeby jeebies a little
Bryan at the front desk was amazing! He was so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful from the moment I walked in. He made check-in easy and went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed. Truly one of the most personable and accommodating front-desk staff I’ve ever met. Thank you, Bryan!??
