Extended Stay America - SLC/Sugar House receives mixed reviews, with concerns about cleanliness, noise, and staff responsiveness. While some guests appreciate the convenient location and kitchen facilities, others have experienced issues with room conditions, security, and reservation difficulties. The hotel offers a budget-friendly option with a focus on extended stays.
Walked in and the first thing we were met by was a spider and a very dirty floor, we go to check in and the guy at the front desk warns us because we have our 2 year old daughter with us that “there is roaches in the rooms” so I instantly said no thanks and my husband and I were in the middle of booking a different hotel as we see a sign saying “please excuse our little friends” with pictures of roaches!! That is beyond disgusting and I absolutely will not ever stay here.
No glasses or dishes in the room, you have to get them from the office. Breakfast is a joke, packaged muffins, Quaker breakfast bars and oatmeal. Today, there's only muffins. Rooms are clean but very basic, only one nightstand.
Terrible experience. Room on first floor far left (looking at building) next to laundry. Laundry running all night, person banging cart along path outside room, slamming laundry door, talking. Only a maximally hearing impaired person could have tolerated this room. Should not be rented out !!! Truly terrible experience. Place full, no option to move room. Had booked for 8 days. Left the next morning after this.
This is probably the best case scenario for an extended stay hotel, as they aren't always this nice. This one is clean and safe, with a fantastic location in a more middle class to upscale area that is very walkable. There is a Whole Foods, Target, and a Smith's grocery store nearby along with a bunch of bars and restaurants ranging from fast food to sit-down. Heck, there is even a charming path behind the hotel alongside a creek. The hotel staff are kind and welcoming. They even called about 20 minutes after I checked in to make sure everything was fine with the room. Other pluses were a huge TV and very tidy guest laundry facilities which is handy if you are there for a longer stay. They have a minimal breakfast (basically just coffee and mini muffins and oatmeal), but I didn't expect them to have anything, so it was a bonus. The price is also very reasonable.
Because the doors are on the outside of the building AND there is a large gap around the door, it is LOUD. The bed wasn't very comfortable. The staff tried the best they could, and kindly refunded the rest of my stay. I ended up at the airport, and slept well.
They fixed the boiler or heater or whatever. No complaints now, its run a little different then your usual hotel but for the price and location, you cant beat it. The hotel right behind it charges double for the night! And if you stay longer the better the prices are. Great place if you need a week or more!
My room got cancelled on me - my flight on the day of my checkin was cancelled really late. I called Extended Stay to let them know I wouldn't be checking in one my original day, but the next one due to my rescheduled flight. They assured me they made a note on my checkin and that I wouldn't be marked as a no show. After a really long day, finally got here and they don't me my reservation was cancelled and there was nothing I could do. They couldn't even offer me the same price. It was nearly double to check in on the day of under a new reservation. Poor guy working at the desk had no say in anything but gave me a water bottle. Really disappointed in the company. Wouldn't recommend this to anybody unless it's your last resort.
I’ve stayed at many hotels from two star to five star and I have to say that the rooms here were super clean. The staff is attentive and helpful when I needed something or I had questions. For shorter stays it’s always more cost-effective to book with a third-party like Priceline Expedia, Hot Wire, Travelocity, etc. for longer stays two weeks or a month the steps that I should check with them or their website, which may stay was not.
This place is great. I was there during a ski trip and it met all of my needs, I cook my own food when I travel so having a kitchen is really important to me. There is a woman there named Hailey that was super helpful also. Wonderful experience. It was clean also. Than you. Mikey
Are family is here for medical procedure at primary children's hospital. We stayed here over the holidays and the staff.... Outstanding. They went out of their way to make the holiday so special for my kids. Room was great, housekeeping did great, and the little grab n go breakfast has been life saving some mornings. Would totally recommend. Last but not least front office and maintenance were fabulous ? above and beyond
