Home2 Suites by Hilton Salt Lake City/West Valley City receives mixed reviews, with some praising its cleanliness, spacious rooms, and friendly staff, particularly the front desk team. However, recurring concerns involve inconsistent room assignments, issues with hotel policies regarding zip codes, and noise levels, especially on lower floors. Value is also a point of contention, with some guests finding it overpriced considering the maintenance needs.
Great rooms! Theyre spotless. Very clean and nice. The staff is super friendly and helpful. HUGE parking lot. Its close to several places to eat and right by the highway.
We reserved an ACCESSIBLE room, with TWO TWIN beds. We were confirmed room #104 in your app. When we got to the hotel, the room miraculously changed to 309, and it only had a queen bed + sofa bed. The receptionist said that she had no other rooms available, and was totally unhelpful. I was livid. Later, when I went down to the reception again, she gave me a bottle of water, and came up to the room to make up the sofa bed. She did not know how the room assignment changed, nor why we ordered two twin beds, and got a single queen. Another important remark - there was only ONE USB port to charge our phones, and even this single one did NOT work. On the positive - the rooms are very well equipped, and clean. The free breakfast was also good, although the coffee was burnt and disgusting. All together, a 3 out of 5, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
Have a wonderful visit here taking advantage of the jacuzzi and indoor pool, had good breakfasts to start my day. And have decent scenery looking at the mountains
UPDATE: I spoke with the hotel during business hours and they understood that a no-show fee was not appropriate. My fee was refunded and I appreciate the help. These are great hotels if you are traveling and need room to work and a large fridge & counter space for an extended stay. When you book, be sure that you want a SMOKING room if that is what you book. I arrived after midnight having just made the reservation 30 minutes prior and they only had SMOKING rooms available. I changed hotels and they charged me a no-show fee even though I had just made the reservation online when my previous hotel reservation fell through.
I had a wonderful stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Salt Lake City / West Valley City. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and welcoming from the moment I arrived. The rooms were spacious and well maintained, making it easy to relax and feel at home. A very special thank you to Nala and Ioana at the front desk for their kindness, professionalism, and warm smiles. They truly made the experience even better. I also appreciate all the staff members who work hard to keep everything running smoothly. Their teamwork and dedication really show. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
Room on 1st floor was noisy starting at 6am. Manager barged into room to ask when I was departing when she could see I had my bags ready to go and was just answering a business phone call that delayed my departure by about 15 minutes. This was thoughtless and churlish behavior towards a customer.
This was by far the best hotel of my 7 day road trip from Minnesota to California. Very clean, perfect and abundant lighting (safety ya know). Staff was friendly and cute, perfect experience for any guest. The breakfast was very clean and fresh. Perfect from a 'food-service' perspective. The room was very nice. I had a great rest before the last leg of my driving experience. I only stopped one more time from here to California. I was well rested!
Older property. Heater/AC makes a lot of noise, hadr to sleep. Inconvenient places to charge (nothing on the table by the bed). No half and hanlf for coffee if that matters to you (just the fake creamers). For Hilton brand, I expected more, so if you stay here just lower your expectations.
**Response to Owner** 14 August 2025 Sir/Ma'am, In response to your reply there is another piece I feel needs to be highlighted. Your policy as you say, "Zip code less than 50 miles are unable to book at your hotel." That is a very vague statement considering 84404 is quite wide that goes from less than 50 miles to well over 50 miles. For instance, for my physical address to your location it is 50.2 miles apart. From our location to the Maverick center is 49.5 miles. So being over the 50 mile threshold what does that mean? That should be reassessed for validity, good business practice, and timeliness of notification. If you do not want to have business from anyone that is willing to pay for a room at your facility then it is fine, but then adequate notification or flagging through any means of booking should be in place. And it appears that this has happened to others... would be worth taking a look at. It is not appealing to know there is a hotel that will not accommodate someone who is willing to do business and also supports the Hilton brand. --Break-- Had booked this hotel month ago to have lodging for a concert in the area. Today is the day of the concert and was about to check in and received a notification that my reservation was to be canceled. This is due to the hotel policy that zip codes withing 50 miles of hotel will not be able to stay at hotel. So issues with this are 1. This is not readily identified at time of booking. 2. Hotel did not notify me until the DAY OF check in. This is unacceptable and an extreme inconvenience as my plans for this event have changed as I am scrambling to book another hotel as I do not want to drive the 35+ miles from my home north of Ogden.
I travel often and am a diamond member staying at Hilton properties all the time. This one is tired and needs some work. The shower handle was so loose it moved the whole pipe in the wall, sheets were not smooth but covered in pilling. Torn blinds and the remote was duct taped to hold batteries.
