Guests consistently praise the spacious, modern suites and exceptional complimentary breakfast, noting the hotel's clean, quiet environment and friendly staff. Despite these positives, multiple recent issues arose regarding the inflexibility of late checkout policies for loyalty members and challenges with semi-truck parking/booking accuracy.
I have been a loyal fan of this location until this morning. I requested a late checkout and was denied because it is “only available for Diamond members.” Apparently, my Gold status was not sufficient. To be clear, the building itself is nice, the rooms are clean, and the front desk staff is very pleasant. However, this is not the type of property that would realistically be a first-choice destination for Diamond members, which makes the explanation feel more like an excuse than a policy consistently applied. I chose to stay at this hotel purely for convenience, as my daughter lives across the street. Unfortunately, after this experience, that convenience is no longer enough. Today, you lost a loyal customer.
My husband and I were looking for Hotels that accommodated Semi Truck parking. We called ahead before booking and informed the person at the hotel desk that we were looking for a hotel that had parking for 18 wheelers we also informed her that we were heavy haulers and we had a wide load and we needed enough room to get in to park. We were assured there was enough room for us so we booked online $123 for our stay. We made it to the hotel just find out they had parking but not enough space for us to come in with a wide load . We called back and spoke with the clerk and expressed our concerns. She told us to call the police to get further assistance about our parking situation and so we did. The officer did not allow us to park where we were going to try to park. I called back and asked for a refund and was instructed to call Priceline because we booked third party. I called Priceline immediately and they called the hotel to see if it was okay to cancel for our refund and they were told a manager was not available try again the following day. The following day I called Priceline and Priceline spoke with their Assistant Manager and she would not issue the refund. So I called the Homewood suites back immediately within a minute of Priceline speaking to the manager. I asked for the manager and was forwarded to the voicemail of Kim the Assistant Manager. Veryyyyy poor customer service! Livaway suites is more accommodating rather new with better rates and have parking for truckers with wider and heavier loads. Yes we have truck stops but sometimes we like Hotels too. We will take the loss of the $123 dollars. Communicateeeeeeeee better Kim and staff ..
Getting here the first time was interesting, you access it through an apartment/condo parking lot with big speed bumps. There is no street signage to indicate you are turning tge correct place and the hotel is tucked behind the housing complex. This also makes accessing rooms on the south side of the hotel from parking a bit of a trek. The far south door is exit only. Not a huge deal for me, I'm fit and don't mind the extra walk but it might matter to others. For reference the small room numbers are on the south end 400, 401, 300, 301, etc.
Fantastic stay here. Stayed for a week. Super clean, well equipped and organized room, excellent service and convenience to plenty of places in the area. I would say the standout for me was the breakfast. I usually despise free breakfasts – due to lackluster quality. However, this was outstanding! I looked forward to it every morning. The quality of the food, the options, and the friendly staff made it a MUST do during my stay. Keep up the great work!
Everything we were looking for! We have been visiting family in Utah for 30 years and this is the best hotel we've stayed at. They thought through every detail, a ceiling fan, a vent fan in the bathroom, and a power strip on the night stand. The kitchen was well stocked and nicely laid out. The generous desk area was used alot and the desk had wheels. The staff were friendly and lots of options in the lobby for take and make food. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were constantly restocking and helpful. This place is a gem! We stayed in the 1 king bed studio suite.
Stayed here on 2 occasions, first time for a week! Decided to return a year later for a quick trip to SLC. Great experience and nice stay for the money. Super clean, new and modern. Friendly staff, quick check-in. Breakfast is nice. Quiet building, even in the end room by the freeway! It’s quieter than in my video (seems the iphone picks up sound almost too well lol). We’re very picky about our hotels but I can highly recommend this place and WE WILL be back.
Sorry I didn’t get any pics. I was so tired when we arrived and checked in. The lady at the front desk that checked us in was very nice and sweet and she told me that if we wanted a Christmas tree in our room they can do that and there was toys for sale in the lobby area. It was really cool and she was doing a bunch of Christmas decorations and I asked her how much they charge for a Christmas tree in your room and she said it was $100 so next time I’m in town I’m gonna have a Christmas tree in our room for Christmas. And the location is great and the neighborhood is safe so I had no issues and breakfast opens at 7am and our hotel room had a little kitchenette and it was very clean. We enjoyed it and I slept very good in that bed and the pillows were awesome and I had extra pillows in our room which was even great so I don’t mind coming back on our next trip to Utah.
The rooms are some of the best rooms I've ever stayed in. They are very neat spacious and modern. Every square inch of the room was very clean. The service was great not only friendly but also asked if we would like any suggestions for the local seen. Location was good. Not to far from where I needed to be. However it is very quiet and makes for a pleasurable stay. When I visit the Salt Lake area again I would definitely stay here!
This place is great to stay at. Fairly quiet, big rooms, great service, friendly staff. The room was clean, except for someone else's sock that was left behind. The bed was very firm and not my style but my hubby slept good.
I stayed at this Homewood Suites location while on a roadtrip with my kids. The hotel itself was quiet, had clean rooms, and comfortable beds. Customer service was friendly and helpful. We drove for 9 hours and were super grateful to not have to pay GrubHub delivery fees or have to go eat out somewhere. Free breakfast was excellent as well.
