Comfort Suites Airport receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location, value, and helpful staff, particularly the shuttle service. However, numerous reviews highlight significant concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and inconsistent service, including issues with room odors, outdated facilities, and unprofessional staff behavior. Shuttle delays and reservation discrepancies are also frequently mentioned.
Really awesome, short stay here at this hotel. The continental breakfast was very good, the room was nice, and the staff were very courteous. If I’m ever back in SLC, I would come back here and recommend others to stay as well. Not far from the downtown area and there are lots of food options nearby.
It's really sad what's become of the mid-priced hotel industry. Comfort Inn used to mean that you would be staying in a clean, comfortable hotel room. Apparently, these standards no longer apply. The main sleeping area was poorly laid out, and the furniture was worn and shabby. The bed was OK, but the pillows were barely big enough to accommodate a person's head. They were also stiff and caused one's neck to lie at an awkward angle. The bathroom was tiny and had black mold growing on the ceiling. The tub had a patched together non-slip mat that looked like something that should have been replaced. There was only one washcloth provided and when we asked the cleaning ladies for more, they brought us out bathmats. I tried to explain but they did not seem to understand even basic English. I asked a 2nd time and was once again given hand towels and bathmats. I ended up going back to the room to show them the single washcloth that was provided. They only shook their heads and walked away. The breakfast was sparse and hardly edible. The coffee in the pump container was tepid and not drinkable. Never again.
The lobby smelled very weird when I got there. The person at the entrance refused to help us under any circumstance and prefered scamming us from $100 rather than help us and make $200 with reservations. No hospitality, no customer service, no want to help at all. The owner or manager of this place should reconsider its employees training. I would recommand going to the Holiday Inn right next to it where people are friendly and willing to help
Place is to noisy was impossible to sleep between the airplane noise the wind and the freeway distance. Needs some remodeling just changing the vanity is not enough! Fridge was very very noisy I had to disconnected. Breakfast was good they have a coffee machine that uses powder to make cappuccinos. Elevators need some repairs not sure for how long that botton and carpet has been like that. The vent for barthroom is worthless Do you know that you are supposed to have a fan at the end of the ducts???? PLACE NEEDS SOME LOVE
Not the best area but the staff was all professional & went out of their way to make our stay great. The air fresheners were way too strong & made us all cough & teary eyed but other than that, it was wonderful. The coffeeshop down the street is a must visit (it's only open until 2 though so go early!). The price was right for all the space, free breakfast, & free airport shuttle. We'd definitely return!
The smell hits you when you walk through the doors. It is either strong curry, not in a good way or sickening smelling air freshener. The beds were lumpy and hard. The closet door almost fell off when I tried to open it. However, the front desk girls were nice. The location is hard to beat when you want to use the ParknJet or The Parking Spot for the airport. I also stayed at the Comfort Suites in Ft Lauderdale the next day and it was very nice. Maybe because this one is independently owned and they don't do much for upkeep.
I have to say that the evening staff who took care of us were great (two women and shuttle driver). The housekeeping staff did a great job as well. Unfortunately the shuttle service is extremely lacking. We waited 45 minutes through two full shuttles (only 9 seats available) till they had space in the van to take us to the hotel. In the morning the hotel only provides one shuttle every two hours. So they had no space to take us to the airport at an appropriate time this morning. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: The morning worker at the desk today refused to give me a later check out during a medical emergency and also refused to let my husband take the airport shuttle back to the hotel after our flight was canceled because we aren’t staying a second night in the hotel and are therefore “not guests”. He told us it’s not his problem that our flight was canceled (literally an employee at the airport hotel and shuttle). He was rude, abrasive, unhelpful, unsympathetic and condescending. He refused to give his name so we could leave a review. We ended up having to pay for two Ubers to get to and from the airport and had to sit in the lobby waiting for a ride to the hospital because we were not allowed to stay in the room during my medical emergency after check out time. I sincerely hope that this man does not continue to work in customer service.
If you're taking the shuttle, be prepared to wait. It took me over an hour from the time I landed to the time I got to the hotel. I would recommend getting an Uber to get here. The hotel has an agreement with other hotels and they go to the west side of the airport and drop people off at the Clarion before they come to the east side of the airport, where the Comfort Inn is located. It doesn't matter if you've been waiting longer than the person who's staying at the Clarion. The Shuttle system makes absolutely no logical sense. I finally arrived at the hotel at 1:45 AM and check-in is very slow. There's a long line.
Rooms were definitely needing updating. Also can hear everything from the people next door showering, flushing toilet, talking, traffic outside and airplanes. Pillows were the size of throw pillows. Price definitely was more than it was worth, but it was last minute and we were desperate. I will say room was pretty clean and service at the front desk was nice.
Breakfast is hit or miss meat if they have any. That's why the service got 4 stars. 3 stars for the room cause last time I stayed there I wasnt able to shower because they had been cleaning drains in the room over and it over flowed into my bathtub. Gross but not a issue to sleep for the evening. The shuttle service is awesome over all and I do appreciate being able to park for my time away on a flight. Good location and comfortable bed. Hot tub could use some work but it's bearable.
