Guests appreciate the spacious kitchens, well-stocked breakfast bar, and convenient central location near downtown attractions and the Salt Palace. However, the experience is consistently marred by off-site parking that requires navigating exterior stairs and a public garage plagued by reports of vehicle break-ins.

I booked via the Marriott app, read a lot of good reviews. However, once I saw the lack of parking, and the outsourcing of parking to a parking garage, off site and adjacent to the property, I was disappointed. You have to pull into property to get a parking pass, then drive around the block to park. Then, park in the 3rd floor, to only carry your luggage and belongings down a flight of stairs that are fixed to the exterior of the parking garage. No elevator. No security. Just horrible lack of convenience which I wish had been described better via app.

The hotel is downtown and when we checked in we had to pull into the loading zone on the busy street. The parking was around the block in the back and was pretty sketchy after dark. We were worried about our car the whole night. There are only a few spots to park as well. The beds were horrible! Super hard and uncomfortable. There was no pool either which was disappointing. The bathroom was nice. It’s also nice to have the kitchen setup in the room. They serve a really good breakfast, too. The eggs were delicious! Usually at hotels the eggs aren’t seasoned at all, but these eggs were perfectly seasoned and cooked well. They also have do it yourself waffle makers which is always yummy. If you like hard beds, don’t need a pool, and don’t have to park a car this hotel is fine. I wouldn’t come back again, though.

If there was enough water coming out of the shower head for a proper shower I would give 5 stars. Great service and lovely rooms I could live in. But I had to forgo washing my hair because there was absolutely no way I could wash my hair without proper water pressure.

We stay here every October when we come to Salt Lake for Blade Show. The staff is always super friendly. Rooms are always clean, it’s conveniently located next to great restaurants the convention center and everything downtown. Great Basic breakfast Ron to go in the morning and again a super friendly staff. We will continue to stay here every year.

It's your basic corporate Marriott property with a kitchenette in the room. It's new so everything works well and is clean. I'd stay here again when we need to be near ground zero of SLC. The only issue is parking: there's a garage around the block from the hotel -- an extra $15 a night charge and you have to go into the hotel first to get a key card to access the garage. Then you're across an alley with various chains blocking access from the hotel. So, it's hard to get luggage from the car to the hotel. Fine if you don't have much, but a pain if you face the choice of lugging stuff to the hotel or leaving it at risk in your car. I can understand why they don't have parking - it would have been hard to build. But, it was a problem for us on a multi-week roadtrip with a fully loaded car. Next time, if we have a lot of luggage, we'll stop on the street in front of the hotel, unload, and then go park.

Recently stayed here for three nights and we thought it was great. Pretty much a full kitchen in the room, large bathroom, great breakfast in am. We saved a lot on food by bring home leftovers and buying a few things at the grocery store. The staff was great too. Yes, the parking is weird because its in a public lot but the people complaining about break-ins shouldn't have left valuables in their car.

The actual room and service were nice, however our experience with parking was horrible. It was an offsite public garage for 15 a night. DO NOT leave anything valuable in your car. Had passenger window smashed and 500 of valuables stolen. Apparently other reports of car break ins are very common in the garage they send guests to.

ONE STAR FOR PARKING AND ASSISTANCE! Read carefully before parking: The hotel itself is rather nice. The location is close to all downtown life and food. At times it can be a little loud because it is located right next to a couple bars and nightclubs. The rooms are comfortable and housekeeping does a good job with cleaning and keeping everything tidy. The front staff tries to be as accommodating as possible. Now let’s talk about parking which is the biggest and most glaring FAILURE. The hotel does not have parking on property. They contract with Axis Parking Garage that owns the parking garage and lot around the corner within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel holds no responsibility with anything that happens to your vehicle since it is not hotel property. Axis Parking Garage DOES NOT CARE what happens to your vehicle. Both the garage and lot are an absolute hot bed for multiple break-ins, smash and grabs, and low-life activities. There are only a few cameras at the entrance/exit of the garage and lot and zero within the garage or lot for the protection of the vehicles. Also note, the cameras half of the time do not work and they will say “they hope it will be fixed soon”. Thieves know this and target the garage and lot daily/nightly. There is always broken glass strewn all over the ground. It is well known to the police who are there almost daily writing reports of multiple break-ins. It is very much well known to the garage owners who are constantly trying to clean the glass away so it can hide the break-ins. This has been reported multiple times to TownePlace and they cannot/will not do anything to curb or stop this from happening. However, they will gladly charge you $15-$25 per day for parking even after knowing how unsafe and unsecured your vehicle will be. The photos on here were taken after a single night of parking in the garage and lot. Good luck and enjoy Downtown SLC hospitality.

This is a wonderful place right across the street from the Salt Palace. It is a great place to stay for anything going on in the Salt Palace. The breakfast bar was very good with a lot of good choices of good quality. The kitchenettes are well supplied with basic cooking and eating utensils. There are several very nice restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance.

The property is relatively new, but has the feel of a Motel 6. The rooms are super small with cabinetry that is worn and damaged throughout the room. The TV in the room is shockingly small and is placed to the side of the bed creating an awkward angle for viewing. The bathroom sink is tight and is difficult to place any toiletries in the bathroom. If you bring a car, be prepared for incredibly inconvenient parking. You have to drive around the block to a parking garage. Directions and signage is non-existent. Once you get to the garage and parked, you will have a lot of steps down to the main level and a walk back to the hotel with all of your luggage. Rarely to I feel unsafe, but I did feel uneasy walking back to the hotel at night. I'm a titanium member of Marriott Bonvoy and I will not stay at this property ever again.
