Centrally located hotel; very friendly staff; nicely furnished rooms; plenty of parking; lovely pool area with a large Jacuzzi; delicious breakfast buffet; we highly recommend this hotel!

The beds were comfortable and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly, and we were impressed by the great selection of breakfast items. Another massive plus for us is the free parking, which is a rare and highly attractive perk compared to other major hotel chains in the area. The downtown location is fantastic and put us within easy walking distance of excellent dining and shopping. We highly recommend checking out nearby spots like Bewilder Brewing, Squatters Craft Cafe, Matteo, and Red Iguana 2 (just a short drive away). That being said, the rooms themselves have taken on a bit of a "Motel 6" aesthetic. It seems like management has opted for ultra-minimalist, rugged updates to counter the wear-and-tear and damage caused by careless guests in recent years. While we are seeing this disappointing shift across other hotel chains as well, we feel that holding disruptive individuals accountable would be a much better choice than downgrading the atmosphere for everyone else. Despite the Spartan room updates, the cleanliness, stellar location, and free parking won us over. We have already booked our next stay.

Outside looks a bit ‘meh’ but inside of hotel is nice. Room was very clean, bed was the best I’ve had at any hotel, room had no microwave but they ran one down for me. Breakfast was great, although no fridge with milk cartons or fresh fruit. Gym was fully functional and pool was working.

Digital check-in was super easy so we just walked to the room when we arrived. The lobby was clean and welcoming. The hallways are very wide and the rooms were quiet. Easy to get to from the highway and a short walk to pretty much everything in the city.

I must start with the caveat is that the 1 and 2nd floors are currently being remodeled. She said floors 3 and 4 and the entire lobby will be completely remodeled in the next month. So maybe skip over this hotel if you do t want to deal with renovation issues. I have no idea what the group paid for these hotel rooms, but this was an extremely positive experience. I can mostly post in things that I used. The gym had 2 1/2 balance balls, 1 lager exercise ball, 4 kettle bells, trx straps, 4 small weighted balls, 3 large weighted balls, 3 foam rollers, 2 padded yoga matts, height rack 5lb to 75 lb), 2 bikes, weight bench, pull down/multi use machine, 3 treadmills, 1 elliptical, a box, scale, 2 large-full-length mirrors, towel rack, water jug, and lots of space. The pool and hot tub indoors, but we didn’t use it. The breakfast was top-notch free, with excellent service. They had a coffee machine (with a bunch of coffees and flavors, but I didn’t use those) but it did have hot water and hot chocolate with whip cream to add if you wanted to. The decorations were fun. They had oatmeal, Brien sugar, nuts, raisins. Waffles with a seasonal flavor. Today the flavor was red velvet. They were delicious. I put on 1 waffle syrup, the other cool whip with caramel. They also had nuts and chocolate topping. They had water, orange juice, Apple juice, and tropical mango water (that’s what I had and it was delicious). They had yogurt and apples (no bananas and I was there right after it opened so I don’t think they usually had bananas). Cheerios, fruit loops, and Raisin Bran, and only 2% milk. There was also boiled eggs. They had these yummy muffin/pastry bites (one was lemon poppyseed, the other was blueberry), they had muffins, white bread, wheat bread, plain bagels, everything bagels, with peanut butter, cream cheese, grape jelly, honey, and butter. They had eggs that were basically omelets with taco sauce and ketchup. They had hash browns, and pork link sausage. So pretty much everything for breakfast. The rooms had barn doors fur the bathroom that slide but don’t fully close. You either like that or not. I liked that because it doesn’t get extremely hot and humid in the bathroom so you can’t fully dry off. The room had a lot of outlets, and even a few new usb outlets. There was a table, with a sliding chair, and small entertainment center (we didn’t use the tv at all). I didn’t see this but someone said the “closet” split the window and set as if 4 things could be hung up. The bed was so comfortable to me. The pillows had a bunch of different firmness to choose from. I have the same complaint that I have in all hotel rooms, not enough lighting. There were 2 light switches as you walked in. I’m not sure what 1 of them went to. There were 2 small lights by the bed. But the good thing was that the bathroom has great lighting.

Excellent customer service! The room is equipped with high quality products that’s good for the skin. Gym and heated pool open 24 hours. Breakfast was delicious as well. Very satisfied

We had a really nice stay. Comfortable room and beds. Very nice staff. Breakfast was great and pool and hot tub were clean and enjoyable. I’d come back to this hotel for sure.

Room was fine. The problem is when you confirm a price online and check in with using the discount provided from UofU hospital. As we are here for medical reasons ; Hampton Inn decideds last min that they will not honor that discount anymore because they 80% full . The explanation they provide made no sense

This was our second stay and both were very good. The rooms were quite clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable. My only real dislike was the layout of the bathroom: no good place to hang towels and having the barn door right next to one of the beds was awkward for anyone trying to sleep while someone was in the bathroom. Oh, and downtown SLC on a friday night is lousy with sirens blaring. You've been warned.

Hampton Inn SLC-Downtown has comfortable rooms, is located off Main Street and offers free continental breakfast. Service was good, breakfast was great, the location is not in the best area. Parking lot lit well.
