Guest reviews for this Extended Stay America highlight a polarized experience: while some guests found the spacious kitchen and attentive front desk staff (especially during office hours) welcoming, there are severe, consistent issues regarding bedbugs, unsanitary conditions, and very poor quality after-hours service.
This is the dirtiest place. I had to order my own cleaning supplies. Nothing worked in the room. I lost all of my food, the fridge had no way to be turned on nor was it evenon. I asked the lady at the front desk about it and she wrote it on a post it, but never did anything about it. When I told her I lost all my food she didnt say anything. There is no hot water, not even luke warm. If you want to use the phone in your room, ypu pay $1.00 for each call even if it doesnt connect, if you want fresh towels you pay $1.75, if you want your trash out, the dumpster is out back. I am an extended stay fan, i stay at them often due to my food allergies and the convienence of not having to eat out. there is no hairdryer and no coffee maker. I am so very disappointed in this location. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK
?I stayed here for a week while waiting to move into my new apartment, and it was a miserable experience. The entire hotel smells like a mix of stale cigarette smoke and wet dog—the scent is unavoidable the moment you walk in. ?The front desk staff was cold, unwelcoming, and made me feel like a burden every time I asked for basics like toilet paper or fresh towels. It’s very clear that many guests, and even some staff, live there full-time, which gives the place a very unprofessional and uncomfortable atmosphere. For the price, you expect at least a clean room and basic courtesy, but I got neither. Save your money and go somewhere else in Sandy
2 AM fire alarm over someone cooking food. But while walking thru hallways to help elderly and handicap off of the 3rd and 2nd floors the smell of weed was strong in some hallways Sad that breakfast isn’t offered like it is at cheaper hotels Doors at end of hallways should be card access instead of emergency exit only people constantly set the door off just going out of them not seeing the signs that alarm will sound. This annoys people in nearby rooms as you cannot hear the alarms by the front desk and after hours staff doesn’t get alerted so the alarms go off for hours
I've had a great experience staying here. The staff is wonderful. Melissa, has been so helpful whenever I've needed anything. The rooms are large with a full size refrigerator, which is a huge bonus! The whole kitchen area has been really nice to have. There's also a nice roomy dresser and closet area to put your stuff in. I really have no complaints.
My experience with Extended Stay America in Sandy, Utah has been nothing but welcoming and home like. Angela at the front desk was so Welcoming,Warm and Knowledgeable. Anything I needed done she was more than willing to help me, she also provided me with what I needed the first time I asked. The manager Melissa was also a very empathic person towards my situation. She was very understanding and made a difference when I needed someone in management. she assisted and was on it right away and fixed the problems I was experiencing without hesitation. I highly recommend the Extended Stay America on 10715 S Auto Mall Drive in Sandy Utah, 84070. My expectations were met, even beyond. Thank you So very much Angela and Melissa for EVERYTHING!!!
I was extremely disappointed and disgusted by the condition of our room. The floor was so filthy we couldn’t walk anywhere without shoes. The bathroom had hair all over the floor and in the drain, and the sink was splattered with residue. There were food stains on the chair and the floor, making the entire space feel unsanitary. When I went to the front desk to report the issues, no one was there, the attendant had “stepped away,” and by the time we returned later, the desk was closed. Had there been another hotel available, we would have left immediately. This experience was completely unacceptable. I will not be staying at this establishment again and strongly urge management to address the lack of cleanliness and accountability. Additionally, all guests were required to show ID at check-in, which would have been fine if it had been disclosed beforehand. This requirement was never mentioned during booking or in the confirmation details, which caused unnecessary frustration and delay upon arrival. ** The issue isn’t that you require ID from all guests, it’s that this policy isn’t disclosed anywhere on your website. This is not a standard practice at most hotels; it appears to be unique to yours. We travel frequently and have never encountered this requirement elsewhere. I understand that it’s your policy, and that’s fine, but it should be clearly stated so guests can be prepared. Many travelers, like myself, are far from home and don’t have the option to “just run back” to retrieve an ID. As for your comment about “hoping we’ll give you another chance,” I don’t think that’s likely. I called to express my concerns and was told I’d receive a call back from upper management within 5–7 days. Two weeks later, I’m still waiting. Perhaps the hope was that I’d forget and move on, but regardless, it’s clear my concerns weren’t a priority. That’s extremely frustrating and gives the impression that your company doesn’t truly value its customers.
The front desk staff was great and very helpful, even though they had my email wrong and I had to repeat it a few times. They were busy, so I understood. Unfortunately, the stay itself was terrible. On the first floor, there was constant pounding noise above me that wouldn’t stop. I asked to be moved to the third floor, and again the front desk lady was very kind. However, there were dogs constantly going in and out. I love dogs, but one German Shepherd was completely out of control. Every time another dog passed, it lunged and tried to get at them. The owner didn’t take the dog outside and seemed to think it was fine. It scared me because it was coming very close to people. On top of that, the hallways smelled strongly of urine and smoke. The carpet and floors were dirty, and the smell was so bad I knew I would never be able to sleep there. After just 30 minutes, I asked for my money back and left. This was an awful experience, and I would never go back. If I could give zero stars, I would. I don’t know why it is even open as bad as it is was I don’t like to give anybody a bad review, but this I thought it was. Front door was great
Room was clean, if not in need of updates or reconstruction. Bed was adequate. Cable TV and password-protected guest internet, which was appreciated. Couldn't help but notice that the hotel did not respect or follow any guest's ESA needs per laws despite documentation. Some other guests (possibly drunk) engaged in LOUD shouting and yelling down the hallways very late at night. Peacekeeping efforts sounded successful, if not timely.
My stay at Extended Stay America Sandy, UT, had its challenges, but three staff members turned it around. Initially, I was frustrated with corporate policies and a lockout at night with no staff on-site. No one answered the phone, but the hotel manager, the true queen bee, drove from North Salt Lake at 3 AM to help me without any resentment, showing incredible kindness. A front desk staff with creative eyeliner handled my temper with patience, showing genuine emotion that I respected, and provided info I couldn’t have found myself. Another staff with glasses was so kind, offering hygiene items with a warm smile. Night staffing needs work, but these three made my stay exceptional.
Great location but the whole place was just filthy. The lobby needed a good sweep and mop, the elevator buttons were so dirty, and the room was also dirty. The carpets were stinky and shredded. There were stains all over the chairs and something had been spilled on the wall before we got there. Beds were comfortable but would not stay here again.
