Located one block from the Delta Center in a modern, brand-new facility, this property is highly praised for its accommodating staff, convenient downtown location, and expansive guest rooms with full kitchens. Recent guests consistently highlight the rooftop heated pool, bar, and restaurant as major amenities. However, one past guest reported an unprofessional check-in experience involving payment processing and a denied reservation change managed by the hotel.
We live locally and take our kids here often for a fun weekend staycation. We can walk to City Creek or Gateway. We love the rooftop pool, it’s heated and so fun to swim there until 11pm! And the breakfast feels like a restaurant, with omelets made to order, yogurt with fresh fruit, and fresh orange juice. Everyone who works here is great and so helpful.
Great location, reasonable prices, gorgeous/brand new facility, convenient parking, good restaurant and rooftop bar Highly recommend staying at the Element for your next stay in Salt Lake City. 12 min drive from the airport. Right across the street from the Delta Center. Close to many freeways. Beautiful new facility with spacious, well designed rooms. Amenities are solid with high quality bedding, kitchen basics. Rooftop gym has a great view and new equipment. Rooftop pool (ambitious) is heated and also gorgeous weather permitting. On site restaurant is very good and the rooftop bar is a fun spot. Parking is in a convenient basement and reasonably priced. Will definitely look at this place first if I have to stay in SLC in the future!
I love this hotel- it is always quite and clean. Also, there is a great rooftop bar and downstairs restaurant for eating onsite. Also, I did have one billing issue due to my own mistake with moving reservations and they fixed it immediately without hesitation. This is a great property to stay at and walkable to Delta Center.
The staff are exceptional. The hotel is very clean, fresh, bright and new. Simple, limited breakfast but enough for sure with breads, yogurt bar, fresh omelet, fruit and cereal. I stayed on my way into SLC and chose to return 3 days later for my outbound overnight. The rooftop pool is beautiful (heated, outdoor) and the rooftop bar with indoor+outdoor space is an oasis. One of the most well managed properties I have stayed with super-friendly staff, efficiency and a welcoming hospitality. Very clever, well done.
one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. I had everything I needed in my room little kitchenette with dishes, even dish detergent. Also had nice shampoo, air conditioner, and soap. It’s in the bathroom. I had an iron in the closet as well as an ironing board and a safe to keep my items Locked up. The amenities were excellent. The gym is very nice with everything that you need. The heated pool was nice too… The rooftop bar is top-notch. I loved the view at night from there! The hotel offers bicycles for and they offer wine tastings in the evening and at night they set out different pot of tea, which was really nice and then the mornings breakfast is complementary, and I was quite impressed with being dairy free, There were still options for me to choose from. Lastly, I added a picture of myself in front of the nice little work area/desk in my room
Element is on the higher end of Bonvoy mid-level hotels. This one in particular is in an excellent location. The rooms are fresh and well appointed. The staff is very nice and helpful. The restaurant had good service and above average hotel food. They also have a rooftop bar with limited food options. On the positive side unlike their restaurant or any restaurant in SLC you don't have to order food to get a drink because it is classified as a BAR.
I had a wonderful stay at Element Salt Lake City Downtown last summer, which is why I chose to return this year. The hotel itself is great — modern, well located, and with excellent amenities. Unfortunately, the experience I had this time was completely different due to the unprofessional and misleading behavior of the staff on duty. I had initially booked through Booking.com with the wrong date, and when I realized the mistake, I made a new reservation directly on the hotel’s website for the correct night. I received confirmation and arrived at the hotel ready to check in. At check-in, I was told I needed to pay $25 for parking. I attempted to pay with four different cards (mine and my partner’s), all with sufficient funds. None were accepted — but what stood out was that the terminal did not request a PIN, nor did it print any receipts or show any concrete error messages. The staff simply told me they didn’t go through and offered no alternative or solution whatsoever. I contacted Booking.com, who later told me the hotel had confirmed a date change through the chat — a message I never received or saw, and I have screenshots as proof. After that, the hotel stopped responding even to Booking. As a returning guest, I expected a minimum level of honesty and support. Instead, I was left feeling misled, ignored, and quietly pushed away. The way the situation was handled raises serious concerns about transparency — and, quite honestly, about bias and discrimination, given how passively I was denied service without justification. I hope management will review this incident and take action with the staff involved. The hotel has great potential, but experiences like this damage its reputation and make guests feel deeply unwelcome. I won’t be returning unless clear improvements are made.
Simply impressive attitude and courtesy of the staff at SLC - Element I checked in about 2-3 hours ago, but the room is so NICE. Reminds of the level of attention and service I have received in European Hotels. A special thanks to Darrell (he certainly has the customer service skills down). Finally, I am at the Ambassador Level and only the 2nd time I have stayed at an Element (ABQ, NM was the other). It is now my favorite brand of the Marriott group.
Very nice hotel. Accomodating; friendly staff. Very nice rooftop with good food. There is a lovely hoteldog. 2 bycicles you can use for free! (FF). Room for a wheelchair has a bed on hight of the wheelchair (50CM) so I can do the transfer myself Thanks for that! We surely will come back!
We spent one night at the Element and loved it! The room is very spacious, modern, and has everything you need it. Bed is comfortable. Complementary breakfast was one of the best I ever had. Espresso machine, gluten-free options, and omelere bar. Parking is convenient and covered, which has been great since it snowed at night. Gym has a good selection of equipment and was spotless.
